Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had a livejournal (or website) like Smallville Timeline that helps people out with stuff like continuity and little miscellaneous details??

Not that I know of, mostly because the creators are deliberately vague about so much canon. (It's frustrating.) You might want to check the archives here because I think there have been some questions about timeline answered in the past - well as best we could.

I've had Running the Numb3rs bookmarked for a while, it's my no# 1 go to place for anything Numb3rs but (and I kinda feel disloyal saying this) I was looking for someplace with a bit more info. For instance SV Timeline has things like mistakes made and progression of relationships with more detail, plus the odd quote thrown in to back up what has been written...

The problem in this fandom isn't the lack of resources, it's the lack of good canon worth tracking IMHO. People have tried simple things like Don's FBI timeline, but the creators keep throwing curve balls like adding things Don did in that time even when we can't seem to find time for it. /sigh/

N3 isn't really a big fandom so we don't have a lot of the trappings a huge fandom does in terms of collective fan run resources. We just have (or had in the case of Numb3rs Online - Hillary's site has been down for a long time and we fear it's gone for good) a few run by individuals and Numb3rs.org where people tend just just ask the creators questions and hope they get answers on them.

N3 also has a ton of errors and conflicting canon (like the brothers' ages/birthdates) so tracking it is rather nightmarish. I think authors tend to either make their own canon or just choose which part of canon they want to follow (i.e. either honor Don's driver's license birthdate *or* the five year age difference) as a way of dealing with our canon issues.

That would require the show writers to actually be consistent with their timeline, which they aren't. Especially Don's timeline. It's extremely frustrating and I've often said I wish the writers would put up a timeline in the writers' room and, you know, look at it.

Snark aside, I think Emma's suggestion is a good one.

spikedluv has recaps of all the episodes and some quotes which has helped me if you're looking for something that's happened on the show rather than in the past.

The best way to find out something about the time line is to ask. I have found out that the hard way. I love the way the story line changes. Like ever one eles I will use Don's his seems to change the most. In ep 2 season 1 Don tells David and Terry that when he was playing baseball that Charlie could tell how many walks he would get by his stances. In the last ep of season 1 the team didn't know that Don had played ball. In some time lines Don and Charlie didn't talk when he was in collage some they did. Is that what your asking? I own all 4 seasons on Dvd I love it but i still get lost form time to time.

Im watching you tubes the boys are back in twon right now. Its got some good shots of Don,Charlie, Colby and the rest of the boys. If I can help in any way please let me know. Im not new to Numb3rs fanfiction but Im not well known. I agree to talk to . spikedluv The reacape is good. There is a site When i can find the addres agian I will send it to you if you like that does quets and other things as well. Hope this has been of some help to you.

I just finished watching all the eps a few weeks ago (two/three maybe), so any help is greatly appreciated :)

Ditto-ing the spikedluv thing, I went over there the other day and her recaps are quite amusing :P

Yes! Kind of; I just think it would help a lot of new people (and probably a few who have been around a while) to have a website/lj that tells you what episode so and so happened because it can get annoying trying to figure out (for example) what ep Don says: "that's what I love about you" to Charlie and having to go through a ton of eps to see if it comes up.

I was thinking of setting up my own Numb3rs lj but I still haven't decided anything concrete...

The ep you are talking about with Don saying that’s what I love about you Charlie is towards the end of season one. It is the one with squish squash in it. Or the one were Charlie is tracking the being from outer space that wasn’t from outer space. As Larry said. I can’t think of the title right now.

Right now I am working on pulling lines from each ep. And using them in a story. So far Finnishsphinx is the only one using the lines with me. We have done two sets as of right now. Please feel free to use the lines in a story if you would like. All I ask is for you to let me know were I can find it to read it.

The only rule that we are using is that the lines must stay the same. Any one can say them. You can do any rating. Also it can be slash, heat, general or any thing you want. My first one was general the second is slash. Finnishsphinx’s both are slash. {they are great. But that’s my take on them.}

1} was lines from season 5 First Law.
Charlie: you don’t like her.
Don: I think you could do better.
Charlie: For instant?

2} Was The lines from Uncertainty Principle.
Season one, episode two.
Don: Please don’t do this.
Charlie: Don’t do what? You don’t even know what it is that I am doing.
Don: Actually I do. The thing is I don’t think that you do.

I think your idea is a great one. I would love a site that I could go to and find little out takes and thinks with the title of the ep. Its funny the other show that I write for form time to time I can mostly tell you the ep title and what season its in. I can tell most of the seasons with Numb3rs right now but not what the ep. Name is. I love to be able to do that. Numb3rs is one of the few shows that is so many things in a nice box. Its not hard to see why lots of people that like other shows then crime or law shows watch it.

I nearly died of a giggling fit when I saw that scene from First Law, I swear I re-watched it like, 5/6 times :P

If I do decide to go ahead with the idea I could definitely use some help so you'll be the first one I contact (though you might regret offering to help later, I can be a bit of a badger when things aren't perfect :/).

The quotes, are they just Don-Charlie ones or are you doing others? Either way it seems like a good idea to get people writing more :)

I had most of season 5 on my tbo. unitl my 5 year old deleted them. I do have First law on it though and I keep going back to that part. Chy my little one will laugh and say Don char part and thats what she wants to see. She told my mom she wanted to watch Colby the other day. My mom looked at me when I got home from work and asked me what it was. She laughed at me when I told her it was Numb3rs.

IN answer to your question no there not all going ot be Don/Charlie thats just the ones so far. I Have my child chy and help with three other kids. They all four have ADHD so you CAN'T be any harder to deal with then them. best of luck.
