LF stories where Amita took the other job

Ok I can't remember if the other position was with Harvard or Yale.  I think it was Harvard but I'm really not sure.  Anyway I was wondering if there's any stories out there were she did leave and took the position, thus killing any chance at a relationship with Charlie.  Or better yet has anyone continued the series with her gone to the other job as an AU from that point?  I like her as an actress and I do like her character on the show but I really, really do not like her and Charlie together. There's no sparkage between them and honestly all the scenes with them being romantic just fall flat for me.

Wow! I've never heard anyone say that before and I feel the same! I like Amita a lot and I like she and Charlie as buddies, but I agree there isn't even a hint of heat. In fact, while I feel Liz and Don would never work out, I will miss that relationship because it's the only one I see on the show with any smoke and fire.

I think the reason we don't like Amita is universal to many romantic interests. We can't invest in the relationship because we haven't been given the chance to invest in her as a character. She is introduced right of the bat as 'the girl' for our protagonist. From that moment on, there is no real character development for her other than to set her up as the one Charlie is supposed to be with. She has no real identity of her own which makes it hard for us to care about her and then the more she is forced upon us, the more she is heralded as the obvious and only girl in the world for a character we DO care about, well, I for one grow to resent characters like that.

Whew! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that thinks the Charlie/Amita relationship just isn't working. The one time that it actually seemed 'real' to me was in the most recent episode, "Breaking Point." She was only around a few minutes at a time and she managed to hack Charlie off because she wanted him to back off on the case he was working- so no lovey dovey stuff in this one.

OMG! Thank god that I am not the only one here, who thinks that Charlie/Amita is not working. Her characters actions in "Breaking Point" really ticked me off. "IF" she was the loving person that she was supposed to be, she wouldn't have torn Charlie to shreds like she did. I also am thinking that the writers are turning Numb3rs into a soap opera and it's not that...it's a crime drama.

Anyway, good luck with finding stories with that plot in mind!

WOW! Im shocked to read this. I remember stating something similiar a few months back and getting a verrrry snippy response from some of the reg hags around here..LOL.
seriously, Amita and charlie NEVER had any chemistry!! Never did, even from the begining. and no its not because I want charlie to live a happy incestual relationship with his big bro (although, bonus points if they do) LOL
but--yeah there is no reason for her character to exist. I almost get a vibe that they dont get along off screen, cuz theres hardly any *touching* or *closeness onscreen. Very flat indeed.

yeah I been reading this and you´re right I can´t see any "sparks" between Amita and Charlie they´re like two friends that are being pushed to be together
yeah I´ll love for Charlie to live happly ever after with Don -(Will be very happy if that happened)- but she´s wrong for him hell even Colby is better for Charlie than Amita
