double-whumped (hoping someone out there knows this...)

I apologize for the vagueness, but this was in the first rush of checking out the fandom (so likely found as an award nominee or in the CalSci lib, but I can't be sure) so didn't download it and don't remember the details EXCEPT that

a) definitely gen. Have not gotten into slash in this fandom, and not planning to at the moment. Also extremely likely only found from Awards website, CalSci lib, or fanfiction.net, as I don't know of [or at best have only skimmed] any other sites yet.

b) one brother is rushed to the hospital [of course, NOW I know how common this is ]... was a trauma/bodily injury kind of thing [bomb? earthquake? shooting?], and not an illness-thing

c) While reporting on condition of first brother, doctor [wonderfully observant guy] notices that second brother is also hurt and treats him.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?
