Hi

I am looking for a scene that could be part of a longer fic or just a one shot where colby/charlie take a nap before the game ( poss baseball) but sleep through wake up with a blanket over them or evidence they have been found by alan. I think this is them outting themselves but nobody is over surprised.

I hope this is enough for someone to recognise as this scene seems to be just resting on the edge of my memory.

I think you're thinking of the ending of What I've Done (http://emmademarais.livejournal.com/168241.html) which is part of my Charlie/Colby gen to pre-slash to slash (ever so slowly) series called Not the Only One (http://emmademarais.livejournal.com/2008/01/28/).

See if this sounds familiar...

"Good." Charlie laid down, curling up on his side next to Colby. "I was thinking of a little after dinner nap before the game comes on. Can I stay here? With you?"

Colby slipped an arm around Charlie and he melded against him contentedly.

"Absolutely." They settled in, both of them closing their eyes, feeling happily sated by a good meal and the warmth of each other's presence. "What are Don and your dad going to think?" Colby asked, more curious than wary.

"I have a feeling they're both a bit sharper than you or I when it comes to this sort of thing," Charlie said, yawning sleepily. "It may have taken us ages to figure this out, but they'll likely be glad we finally got around to seeing what they've probably seen all along."

Colby wasn't sure if he dreamed it, but hours later - long after the game was over - he saw Alan through the haze of sleep turn off the lamp on the dresser and shut the door to the room for the night, a self-satisfied little smile on his face.
