LF Specific Don(?)/Charlie Fic

Hey, since my last request was answered so quickly, I'm taking advantage of this community again.

This story may be a little harder to find as I remember next to nothing about it. The only thing I specifically remember is that Charlie was talking about the fact that water expands, instead of contracting, when it freezes and how that was essential to the development of life. It may have been Don that he was telling this to, and it may have been related to their incestuous relationship, but that's questionable.

PS: I don't know if this is allowed; if not, I apologize. But, would anyone be able to point me to somewhere where I could share a prompt/plot/challenge thing that won't leave my head?

ahhhh. yes. dira's fic will stay with you even if you can't quite remember the details. I knew this one immediately but I am a big fan of her N3s stories and have been known to reread them from time to time.
