Charlie beans a murderer with a pendulum

I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out where I originally found this story. I think it's a gen story (h/c) and it features Charlie. He is pursued (I think at CalSci), and he manages to defend himself by making a pendulum with a heavy weight on the end that he uses to knock out/kill his pursuer with. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

So, as the subject states, I am searching for a Numb3rs fic that involved tentacle!sex. I'm pretty sure it was Don/Charlie, but it may have been Charlie/Colby or other esoteric pairings. That is, of course, unless I somehow managed to misremember a SGA or HP fic as a Numb3rs fic. In which case, I'll be in that corner.
