LF chronology
Hi,
I watched All's Fair this week for the first time and I was astonished at the revealed fact that Charlie once living with Susan for nearly two years.
I'm full of "Did Charlie come back to parents' home after breaking up with her?" and "Can we get further details in later episodes? " right now.
So...I want to find the chronology of the Eppes family's events if there is any.
Maybe somewhere? *hopeful*
ETA: Corrected a misspelling. And thank you all for helpful links!

Some authors have worked out timelines only to have them dashed by canon in a single episode.
Off the top of my head, here's what I feel fairly certain about.
Key word being 'about' evidently. ;-)
As of the pilot, Don has known Terry about ten years. If you assume they met at Quantico that helps set Don's timeline. What screws with this though is that the pilot was intended for fall release. When it got pushed back to a midseason show there was no way to adjust it to be spring and not fall.
Early Season 1 Charlie is 29, nearly 30.
Don is five years older than Charlie.
They graduated high school together.
One assumes Don was 18 and Charlie was 13.
I believe we have some canon that Charlie was 14 while at Princeton (a remark he makes to Larry I think about publishing his first paper), which makes sense since his supposed birthday is in September so he would have gone there at 13 and had a birthday immediately.
As of Season 1 Margaret has been dead about a year and Don has been back about three years.
Don's timeline appears to be HS, College for baseball, Stockton Rangers baseball, Quantico, Fugitive Recovery, Instructor at Quantico, Albequerque, LA.
Charlie's includes HS, undergrad at least at Princeton, at least 2 years with Susan ostensibly in England, teaching at Cal Sci. TPTB imply that a mathematician of his stature would have been at a number of places before settling down at Cal Sci, but they aren't telling, one assumes, so they can pull them out of a hat as needed a la All's Fair later.
Lady Shelley does a decent job of gathering canon so I'd check her site for more.

Her Season 1 canon page (for example)

And finally, *please*! It's EPPES *not* Epps.

I got a kick out of your comment that some writers have had their timelines dashed by an episode. I was in the middle of writing and posting a multi chapter story where Charlie is giving Amita and Larry a tour of Princeton when they showed the episode where Larry and Charlie talk about practical jokes they played at Princeton.
Oh well. I kept up with my own reality through that story.

Yes, that was a rather big reveal!
Another was the revelation that Don had worked as an instructor at Quantico.
I'd read a ton of fic where Don and Billy sadly go their separate ways when Don gets promoted to Albequerque and then canon comes along and says he had another job *before* New Mexico! /headdesk/
Oh well, you do the best you can and AU the rest. /grins/

And thank you for pointing out the misspelling. Have corrected.

In one episode, Liz and David are in the car together and Liz makes some comment to the effect of how she should be used to the dark side of human nature after being with the FBI for FOUR years.
The thing is, in an "Longshot" she told Colby that she had Don as her instructor right after he got out of FR.
So something doesn't make sense here because the pilot told us that Don had come to L.A. from New Mexico.

Oh, it's a shame. I hope a lot more people will write Numb3rs stories despite the risk. :-)
